McCarthy: No Palace Interest in Cresswell - Ipswich Town News

Boss Mick McCarthy says the Blues have received no interest from Crystal Palace regarding left-back Aaron Cresswell. Town were reported to have rebuffed a move for the 23-year-old prior to the Eagles adding Frenchman Florian Marange to their squad.

McCarthy says he’s heard nothing and that even before the signing of Marange, the recently promoted Premier League side were well covered on the left of defence: "No, I keep hearing that Crystal Palace are interested in him and that doesn’t surprise me at all, except from the fact that they’ve got a good left-back anyway. Well two, Jonathan Parr and Dean Moxey have both played there and done well.

"I’ve heard nothing at all, only what people keep telling me, that it’s in the papers. It doesn’t surprise me, he’s the best left-back in the league.

"I’m not touting him around, trying to sell him, but I think when people do well they deserve it to be said, and he’s been excellent.”
