Defender Tyrone Mings has signed a new contract with the Blues taking him to the summer of 2015 with an option for a further season. The 20-year-old joined Town from non-league Chippenham in December, signing an initial deal which took him up to the end of this season.
The left-back or centre-half told the club site: "I was delighted to sign my first contract here but to know the manager has shown confidence in me and wants me to stay is a big bonus.
"It gives me some stability, knowing my future is sorted for the next few years but I can’t rest on my laurels.
"The manager has told me to carry on doing what I’m doing and it’s down to me to get into the first team and look to play as many games as possible and at some stage in the future, win another deal to stay here.” Mings, who is currently out of action with a knee injury, made his senior debut on the final day of last season at Burnley with his other first team appearance coming at Reading on the opening day of this campaign.
