Carson Leaves Town - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Josh Carson has left Portman Road by mutual consent. The 20-year-old Northern Irish international is out of manager Mick McCarthy’s plans and has recently spent time on trial with Bristol City, Notts County and Hibernian.
Carson, who was contracted until the end of the season, can now find a new club outside the transfer window.
McCarthy told the club site: "We thank Josh for all his efforts at Ipswich Town and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Carson, who was on loan at York City during the latter stages of last season, made 18 starts and 15 sub appearances for the Blues having come through the academy, scoring five goals.
The midfielder's exit looks set to be the only action at Portman Road on an unusually quiet final day of the transfer window.
