Taylor Makes Second Posh Debut - Ipswich Town News
On-loan striker Paul Taylor played the first 77 minutes as Peterborough United won 1-0 away at Rotherham United.
Manager Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire that he was pleased with the 25-year-old, who is back with his former club until November 2nd: "[He did] OK. He needed a game, there’s no question, he lasted a little bit longer than I thought. The boy’s a good player, I love players like that.
"He worked hard for the team, but he is more of an individual, he’s fantastic in one-on-one situations. He probably didn’t pass it quick enough.”
Posh midfielder Grant McCann scored the game’s only goal from the penalty spot in the 51st minute.
Meanwhile, Town’s Tuesday opponents Derby County have sacked manager Nigel Clough following today’s 1-0 defeat to local rivals Nottingham Forest. Clough had been the division's longest-serving boss having been at Pride Park since January 2009.
Former Stoke manager Tony Pulis was photographed at the game and is tipped to be his successor.
