Keeper Crowe in Wales Squad - Ipswich Town News

Blues keeper Michael Crowe has been called into the Wales U19 squad for a training camp in Spain this week.

The Welsh youngsters, who are coached by former Town midfielder Geraint Williams, will play a game against a Malaga U19 XI on Wednesday.

London-born Crowe, whose father is English and mother Norwegian, joined the Blues in the summer of 2012 from Kristiansand-based side IK Start, having been brought up in Norway. He qualifies for Wales through his grandmother.

The 17-year-old, who was first called up by the Welsh U19s last season when he was a sub in a 3-0 friendly victory over Northern Ireland, is a second year academy scholar and signed a two-year professional contract earlier in the season. His only competitive involvement with the Town senior squad so far was a place on the bench at QPR.

The camp and match are preparation for UEFA U19 Championship qualifiers in Georgia in November when they will face the hosts, Holland and Moldova.

Wales U19s: Michael Crowe - Ipswich Town, Luke Williams - Aldershot Town, Connor Roberts - Swansea City, Josh Yorwerth - Cardiff City, Luke Llewellyn - Swansea City, Joseph Jones - Swansea City, Jordan Evans - Fulham, Bradley Wickham - Cardiff City, Rob Evans - Wrexham, Josh Sheehan - Swansea City, Sam Evans - Swansea City, Declan Weeks - Wolverhampton Wanderers, Gethin Jones - Everton, Abdi Noor - Cardiff City, Jaye Bowen - Cardiff City, George Williams - Fulham, Owain Jones - Swansea City, Chike Kandi — Chelsea.
