Taylor Back With Blues - Ipswich Town News
Striker Paul Taylor has been recalled from his loan spell at former club Peterborough United and will be available to play for the Blues in Friday’s live Sky game at home to Barnsley.
Taylor had been due to remain with Posh until after Saturday’s game at home to Leyton Orient but the Blues were entitled to recall the frontman after the first 28 days of his spell.
The 26-year-old made seven appearances for his former club while back at London Road but failed to find the net. He will rejoin the Blues squad for training at Playford Road this morning.
Speaking after watching him in action in his penultimate game for Posh, a 0-0 League One draw with Sheffield United last Tuesday, Town manager Mick McCarthy was pleased with what he saw.
"He looked much fitter and sharper,” he said. "He looked like he’d got that pace to run beyond people, up the sides of people.
"He’s had six games, not played them all fully but after 70 minutes he was chasing back and winning tackles the other night, which he couldn’t have done before he went there. He’s much better.”
