Ferguson: Taylor Sharper and Fitter - Ipswich Town News
Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson says striker Paul Taylor is “sharper and fitter” for his seven-game loan spell back at London Road. The 26-year-old, who had been out for 11 months with a foot injury, was recalled from his stint with Posh earlier today and will be in the Town squad facing Barnsley live on Sky at Portman Road on Friday.
Ferguson told Peterborough's official site: "Mick [McCarthy] came to the Sheffield United game last week and has watched all of the DVDs involving Paul and you can definitely see he is a lot sharper and fitter, and that is what Ipswich were looking for when they allowed him to come out on loan.
"Paul has done well for us, but we knew there was a chance they would recall him earlier than the full month and that is what has happened. I have other options in terms of team selection for the weekend at the club.”
Taylor was due to remain at London Road until after Saturday’s home match with League One leaders Leyton Orient.
