Trialist Starts for U21s - Ipswich Town News

Town have included trialist Eoin Wearen in a young U21 side facing Swansea at Stebonheath Park this afternoon (KO 2pm).

Irish U17 and U19 international Wearen, 21, is a centre-half or central midfield player who was released by West Ham in the summer without breaking into the senior side, having joined them from St Kevin’s Boys in Dublin in 2008.

A keen Gaelic footballer as a youngster, Wearen spent time on loan at Dagenham and Redbridge in 2011/12, making one start and three sub appearances.

As expected, Town have named a very youthful side with only skipper Byron Lawrence, who is back from an ankle injury, and Jack Marriott having any first team experience.

You can follow the game on Swansea's official website here.

U21s: Crowe, Emmanuel, Timlin, Berkane, Wearen, M Clarke, Doherty, Lawrence (c), Marriott, Winter, Adekunle. Subs: Marsden, Galvin, Bishop, G Clarke.
