Peralta Loves the Cup! - Ipswich Town News

Town midfielder Sixto Peralta says he wants to emulate the Cup antics of fellow Argentinian Ricky Villa. Peralta scofed twice on Saturday against Dagenham and Redbridge and is keen to go all the way in the Cup.

The midfielder said: "I heard many tales of Ricky Villa and Ossie Ardiles playing in the FA Cup for Tottenham. I have seen Villa's Cup Final goal many times on video. They are heroes in my country because they won the first World Cup for Argentina. I would love to do a Villa and win an FA Cup medal."

Peralta's family followed the game as it happened and the romance of the Cup seems to have caught the on loan man big style: "My family will have read all about it on the Internet. They live in Comodoro Rivadavia. Do you know the Falkland Islands? It is the city nearest there. I played in an Italian Cup tie, for Inter against Lecce, also from Serie A. It was nothing like this. When I was a teenager in Argentina I played for a smaller club than Dagenham but they were never allowed to play against big teams. This is very special."
