Players Make Christmas Hospital Visits - Ipswich Town News

Boss Mick McCarthy and the first team squad are taking part in the annual Christmas hospital and hospice visits throughout the week.

McCarthy, Aaron Cresswell, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Paul Taylor were at Ipswich Hospital’s children’s ward yesterday, distributing presents purchased by the players and staff, signing autographs and posing for photos.

Luke Chambers, Tommy Smith and Luke Hyam visited St Elizabeth Hospice today with the East of England Co-op, one of the club’s partners, donating £200 worth of food for the hospice’s Christmas dinner.

Cole Skuse, Dean Gerken and Alan Lee joined Simon Milton at St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.

In addition to gifts for patients, the players handed over bedding, lamps, cushions and curtains to improve the hospice’s Florence Cohen Room, where relatives of patients stay, while the East of England Co-op donated a 32” TV and DVD.

On Thursday, players will visit the children’s wards at the West Suffolk Hospital and Colchester Hospital and on Monday they will be at East Anglia's Children’s Hospice.
