Watford Appoint New Boss - Ipswich Town News

Saturday’s opponents Watford have appointed former Siena, Palermo and Chievo Verona boss Giuseppe Sannino as their new head coach, Gianfranco Zola having resigned earlier in the week.

The 56-year-old, who is joined at Vicarage Road by assistants Francesco Troise, Giovanni Cusatis and Paolo De Toffol, is set to be in charge of the Hornets for the first time at Portman Road on Saturday.

Zola left the club he took into the play-offs last season following a run of nine games without a win. They are currently 13th in the Championship table.

The Blues will be looking to beat the Hornets at home for the first time in nearly 10 years on Saturday.

Watford were last defeated on Suffolk soil in March 2004 when Dean Bowditch netted a hat-trick and Jermaine Wright added a late fourth in a 4-1 win, Scott Fitzgerald scoring for the visitors.
