Town boss Mick McCarthy has missed out on the December Manager of the Month award, Derby’s Steve McClaren receiving the gong.
The Blues manager, whose side won three and drew three as they climbed into the top six during the final month of 2013, was nominated alongside McClaren, Birmingham’s Lee Clark and Nottingham Forest’s Billy Davies.
McCarthy was previously nominated for the December 2012 award but then lost out to Hull City manager Steve Bruce.
The last time a Town boss was named Manager of the Month was back in 2004 when Joe Royle picked up the award for November.
Since then Royle, Jim Magilton, Roy Keane and McCarthy have all been nominated but without winning.
