We're Still Waiting... - Ipswich Town News

As yet there is no announcement on the rumoured huge transfer bid made by Town.

Many names have cropped up in the last day or so with the most popular being those we have heard about over the last six months or so: Hayden Mullins and Mathias Svensson of Crystal Palace, Luton youngster Matthew Spring, Jack Lester of Grimsby, Lomana Tresor Lua-Lua of Colchester, Matt Lockwood of Orient as well as new names Mark Rivers of Crewe and 22-year old Norwegian from Tromso Rune Lange.

Lange is a prolific striker who almost joined Coventry a couple of years back but the deal fell through over personal terms.

Basically it seems no one has a clue, which is very characteristic of a George Burley transfer. Interestingly of the names mentioned above it appears only Spring would fetch anything like the figure being talked of at the moment so expect the unexpected when we finally do get an announcement. More later today we're sure. Well, hope.

Apologies for a slight error in the Bolton report. Even Micky Stockwell can't replace himself after 60 minutes. That should, of course, have read Jonas Axeldal.

Jim Magilton and Richard Naylor, both out for the Bolton game with groin problems, should be in contention for Saturday's game with Sheffield United.

George Burley has slapped prices of "five or six million" on the heads of James Scowcroft and David Johnson, all though he reiterated that no one at Portman Road is up for sale.
