Hyam Sidelined for a Fortnight - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Luke Hyam will be out of action for at least two weeks with scans confirming that a deep cut just below his right knee was the full extent of the injury he suffered during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Millwall.

The 22-year-old was stretchered off in the eighth minute of the game at the Den after a challenge with ex-Blue and fellow former Northgate High School pupil Liam Trotter. He was taken to hospital in London before being released on Saturday evening.

Town physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Luke’s had a scan on the knee and that’s all clear.

"The hospital washed out the cut, which is just below the knee, and then stitched up the wound.

"It’s a deep cut and there is some heavy bruising around the area as well. He’s on crutches and we have to be careful that the knee doesn’t get infected.

"If all goes well, you are looking at around two weeks before he can get out on the training ground again.”

Earlier today, a clearly frustrated Hyam tweeted: "You don't appreciate certain things until they get taken away from you #cantmove.”
