Willbye Wins Goal of the Month Award - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Jack Willbye’s 45-yard stunner during Town’s FA Youth Cup tie with Sunderland has won the League Football Education December 2013 U18 Academy Leagues Goal of the Month award.
The 17-year-old’s strike received 613 votes, 33.14 per cent of those cast to carry off the gong.
Second-year scholar Willbye put the Blues in front in the first half but the Black Cats equalised after the break and eventually went on to win 4-2 on penalties.
Meanwhile, former Blues striker Jason Scotland has joined Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Championship on a deal until the end of the season having had his contract at Barnsley cancelled.
