Boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Middlesbrough right-back Frazer Richardson is joining the Blues on loan until the end of the season.
McCarthy said: "He’s here, I’m delighted with that, even more so because Nigel Adkins said to me before the game ‘Well done on getting Frazer, he’s a fabulous kid’. He had him for two or three seasons at Southampton.
"I’ve known him a long time, we tried to sign him from Leeds when I was at Sunderland. He’s only 31, he’s out of contract at the end of the year, so he’s with us until the end of the season.
"He wants to get a contract somewhere, it’s fabulous for us and he’s a top lad, I’m delighted with him.
"He knows the score, he’s come down, he knows Chambo’s playing and he wants to come and fight for a slot, which is great for a pro at 31. Fantastic. He’ll be available on Tuesday at Leeds.”
