Loan midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe is at Fulham's training ground this morning to undergo a medical with the Cottagers having agreed a fee with Manchester United.
Having played down Fulham’s interest in Tunnicliffe yesterday, a source at the Premier League club confirmed that the move was on earlier this morning and the move looks set to go through well before tonight’s 11pm deadline.
Fulham are also believed to have made a move for another Manchester United youngster Larnell Cole. Cottagers manager René Meulensteen knows both players well from his time as assistant boss at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Tunnicliffe has been a regular in the Town side since joining on loan in August, making 24 starts and five sub appearances. He extended his spell until the end of the season earlier this month.
Losing the 21-year-old former England U17 international will be a blow for the Blues, although they are already believed to be talking to a potential replacement, Leeds midfielder Paul Green.
Meanwhile, Wolves striker Kevin Doyle, reportedly the subject of a rebuffed Town bid earlier in the week, continues to be linked with a loan move to Middlesbrough, along with his former club Reading, while QPR are said to have joined the chase. Rangers are in need of a striker having lost Charlie Austin for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
Midlands sources are now linking the Blues with another Wolves striker, Iceland international Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson, who Town were keen on prior to his move to Molineux during Terry Connor’s brief spell as manager in 2012 following Mick McCarthy’s sacking.
Sigurdarson, 22, has made 21 appearances for Wolves this season — the most recent last month - but the former Lillestrøm man has said he wants to leave the League One club.
Swansea, linked with a move for Town’s David McGoldrick last night, are now reported to have made a £2.5 million bid for Leicester striker Jeffrey Schlupp, perhaps reducing the chances of an approach for the Town top scorer.
