Skuse Fine for Barnsley Trip - Ipswich Town News

Boss Mick McCarthy says midfielder Cole Skuse should be fine to face Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday, despite being replaced with a head injury in last week's 1-0 victory over Bolton. Stephen Hunt is a slight doubt, while Luke Hyam and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake are again set to miss out.

"Skusey trained today, he’ll be fine," McCarthy said. "Sylvan’s trained fully but he’s not ready to play and Luke is doubtful for the weekend.

"He had eight stitches and it’s slightly on the knee joint. It’s got to heal properly or it’ll just keep opening up.

"I hope Sylvan [will be available for Blackpool next week or soon afterwards]. As soon as we can do it, but I don’t want to do it and end up with him having a problem with his hamstring.

"He trained fully today with the team, then did a bit extra with TC and he looks fine. I’m pleased with him.

"Hunty missed training today, he said he had a tight groin from training the other day but knowing him he’ll be all right.”
