Brown Refuses Budgies! - Ipswich Town News
Wayne Brown has guaranteed himself a place in the hearts of all Town fans forever by refusing to take the chance to join Norwich City on loan. The central defender earlier spent time at Wimbledon on loan, but when the chance to go to Norwich came he turned it down.
TWTD understands that the offer came in prior to his return to first team action against Dagenham and Redbridge, a period when a place in the first team looked unlikely. According to our sources Brown just couldn't bring himself to move up the A140 and play for Town's greatest enemy.
Brown isn't the first Town player to refuse the chance to join Norwich. Current Academy coach Simon Milton was offered the chance to join Norwich permanently during the 1980s but like Brown felt it was a step too far.
