Doherty Nominated for Award - Ipswich Town News
Young midfielder Jack Doherty has been nominated for the FAI Schools International Player of the Year gong at the 24th FAI International Football Awards.
Doherty, 19, joined Town from Waterford United following a trial last summer, having previously won caps with the Republic of Ireland schools side.
The winger’s time with the Blues has been disrupted by injury and homesickness but he impressed as a sub during Monday’s 2-0 U21s defeat to Charlton.
The other nominees in Doherty's category are Alan Browne (Cork City) and Alex Byrne (Salthill Devon) with the winner announced at a televised ceremony on Sunday 2nd March.
