Brown On Norwich and Future - Ipswich Town News

Town defender Wayne Brown has told TWTD that although the decision which stopped him going to Norwich on loan wasn't his he probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Brown, however, is convinced his career is now destined to continue elsewhere and will consider offers.

The interest from Norwich came not long after Brown's previous loan spell with Wimbledon came to an end: "They came in for me about four days after I came back from Wimbledon and the Gaffer turned it down. Basically, he said he might need me over the Christmas period and as it turned out he did in the game at Dagenham. The decision wasn't mine, it didn't get to me. Would I have gone to Norwich if I'd had the choice? Probably not, being Norwich! But if another loan or permanent move came in I'd definitely consider it."

Despite that game against Dagenham he feels he is a long way for the first team: "It's very hard to get in the first team here. I know where I am here now; fifth or sixth choice, so it's not an ideal situation to be in, as any player will tell you. I want to play football, and at Wimbledon I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think if they had come up with the money I would have gone down there. I'm just like anyone else, I love the game and I just want to play. It's no good playing in reserve football for as long as I have, I can't keep doing it and if an opportunity comes along, if I can get out then I will do."

Brown saw tonight's 1-0 reserve loss to Charlton as a pretty standard second string game: "It was at typical reserve game, high tempo with people trying to impress. They had a fairly experienced side out, but I didn't think they deserved to win. I think we had enough chances to win the game. People switch off at certain times and it costs you the game, it's the same at any level."
