Nouble Unfazed By Critics - Ipswich Town News

Town striker Frank Nouble insists he is unfazed by the criticism from some sections of the Portman Road crowd.

"I don’t really care about it to be honest,” he stressed. "If it’s coming from the manager or a member of staff, that’s the only time it matters to me and I’ll take on board what they say.

"I know that if I’m doing well for them I’m also doing well for the club. I don’t feel I have to prove people wrong. It’s about proving it to me and my team-mates — if I do that then everything else will come.

"The manager has shown faith in me and hopefully I can pay him back. I think we’ve only lost two of the games in which I’ve started and I don’t think that’s a bad record. When I’m in the side we tend to do quite well so hopefully I can stay in there.

"I had a spell where I played about eight or nine games in a row and the manager has been fair with me. None of the players can really complain because he has given everyone a chance.”

Nouble revealed that some fans have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions.

He added: "You always get the odd one who will say something, like ‘I thought you could have done better’ but you also get the others who say good things. I don’t think too much about it regardless of what they say.

"I find it easy to switch off and not let what other people are saying upset me. The club are having a good season and I’m part of it. If you look at the overall picture it’s not difficult.

"It’s plain and simple — everyone is doing really well, we’re having a good season and people should be encouraging us and getting behind the team.

"This is the best position Ipswich have been in for, what, four or five years? You don’t get good football when you are in or around the bottom of the league. We were in the top six not so long ago and now we’re fighting for the last play-off spot.

"I can’t understand how there is negativity when we are in that position. Personally, I feel like I’m improving every day. I just want to get a good run of games to fully show what I have to offer. It’s a bit hard when it’s stop-start and any player will tell you that.”
