Academy Scores - Ipswich Town News

Town's U19s ran out 3-1 winners of their FA Premier League Academy game against Wolves at Town's training ground this afternoon. The U17s drew 2-2, also against Wolves.

The U19s went behind in the first half after an error from Lee Beevers. Some minds appeared focussed very much on Monday's FA Youth Cup match with Coventry and a number of the regular players were left out. Darrens Bent and Ambrose were both on the bench.

The second half saw a distinct improvement and Matt Robinson scored the equaliser before putting in a low cross than any one of three Wolves defenders put past their own keeper.

Darren Bent came on with 15 minutes left and immediately scored, outpacing a defender before slipping the ball past the keeper. The ball came back off the post and he lashed it into the roof of the net.

The U17s scorers were Victor Hill and Sam Morrow, although the Town side had a number of chances to take the three points.
