Wilnis Links - Ipswich Town News
Weekend reports claim that Fulham and West Ham may be interested in wantaway Town defender Fabian Wilnis. The Dutch defender asked for a transfer a week or so ago after spending the majority of the season on the sidelines.
Earlier in the season West Ham made an offer for Town's Jamie Clapham, but they and the Blues could not reach an agreement over a fee. Hammers first team coach Paul Goddard will be more than familiar with Fab after moving to Upton Park from Portman Road in the close season.
Ironically the last Town player to leave Portman Road for Fulham was another Dutch right-back. Gus Uhlenbeek jumped ship to Craven Cottage shortly before the beginning of the 1998/99 season.
