Edwards Makes Millwall Debut - Ipswich Town News

Skipper Carlos Edwards made his debut for loan club Millwall as they drew 2-2 with Blackburn — Town’s next opponents — at the Den, while four of Town’s other loanees were also in action.

Edwards believes the Lions should have taken all three points as they battle relegation.

The Trinidad and Tobago international says he's surprised they are in trouble: "I'm looking through the team and squad and thinking to myself, 'Why?'

"There is no reason why Millwall should be at the bottom of the Championship with the manager and the quality of players we have. It has puzzled me."

Freddie Veseli played the full 90 minutes as Bury won 3-0 away at Northampton in League Two and Jack Marriott created the first goal for Woking as they beat Wrexham 2-1 at home in the Skrill Premier.

Jack Doherty came on as a 60th minute sub for Waterford United as they lost 2-1 at home to Wexford Youths in the Airtricity League First Division on Friday evening, while Tom Winter came on as a 78th minute sub for Leiston as they won 3-1 at Enfield in the Ryman League Premier Division.

Elliott Hewitt’s Gillingham were scheduled to play Peterborough this weekend but Posh face Chesterfield in Sunday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final.

Meanwhile, Town's U18s drew 0-0 with Cardiff City at Playford Road this morning.
