Chambers Out to Complete Hat-Trick - Ipswich Town News

Town skipper Luke Chambers is aiming to complete a hat-trick of promotions — and the sooner the better.

He did it at both his previous clubs, Northampton and Nottingham Forest, and with Ipswich just two points adrift of the play-offs he can sense another opportunity on the horizon.

Chambers said: "I’ve already had promotion from League Two and League One, so hopefully I can complete the set. It has always been my ambition to play in the Premier League and that is what we all aspire to. That is the standard the gaffer has set since coming in.

"Hopefully we will do it this season but if it’s not we’ll go again next year and we’ll be a team to be reckoned with. At the moment we’re not all going round talking about promotion, we’re just quietly going about our business.

"We feel we have a top-six squad even if it is one of the smallest and we’ve used fewer players than anyone else. The gaffer has worked on a shoestring budget but he is a manager capable of producing a team that will get results.

"We’re all happy to be playing for him and we’re all in the same boat. Everyone that comes here seems to buy into what we are all about.”
