Boss Mick McCarthy has no new injury concerns ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Huddersfield Town. Striker Paul Taylor will be back in the travelling party having missed the visit to Blackburn at the weekend, due to illness.
"Everybody’s fit, there were a couple of bumps and bruises from Saturday but nothing that’s going to keep them out, they’re all ready to go,” he said.
The Town boss says Taylor is now OK having been unwell: "He’s had diarrhoea and sickness for three days. He was ill over the weekend, he reported on Friday morning that he was poorly. He trained yesterday and he’ll be travelling today.”
The cryotherapy unit, which aids players’ recovery, was again at Playford Road this morning and McCarthy says his squad is in decent shape as they go into the season’s last lap.
"They’re all fine. They’re an exceptionally fit bunch of guys, to be fair,” he added.
"I think that’s proved by such a small squad having played most of the games. The back four has played most of the games. We’ve had a pretty settled side. They’re young and fit, they look after themselves and they’re in good shape, I reckon.”
Meanwhile, Town’s U21s are in action against Swansea at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 2pm).
The club will make an announcement regarding next season’s new kit supplier later today with Mitre's contract having come to an end. The new strips themselves will be announced next week with Town now changing both their home and away kits each summer.
