Cresswell Back as Smith, Anderson and Ebanks-Blake Suffer Niggles - Ipswich Town News
Boss Mick McCarthy says Aaron Cresswell will be fit enough to return to his regular left-back role when the Blues travel to Watford on Saturday, but says Tommy Smith, Paul Anderson and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake all have niggles.
Cresswell missed last week’s victory over Doncaster with a groin problem but McCarthy says he’s now OK and will be in his team at Vicarage Road: "Cressy’s fine, he’s trained fully today, no problems at all.
"Tommy’s not trained yet, he’s got a sore calf and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake’s got a tight hamstring but I expect Tommy to be fit anyway.”
Midfielder Anderson also has a tight hamstring but is thought more likely to be involved than Ebanks-Blake.
The former Wolves man's probable absence is likely to be what has led to Jack Marriott's 24-hour recall clause being utilised. The 19-year-old striker had been at Skrill Premier Woking.
