Bramble Toon Link Again - Ipswich Town News
Town defender Titus Bramble is again being linked with a move to Newcastle United. The 20-year-old England U21 international is reportedly set to become a £6 million target of Bobby Robson according to tabloid reports this morning.
Stories linking Newcastle with a move for Bramble first surfaced in early December, but within a few days Bramble had denied hearing anything from Bobby Robson's club. He told TWTD: "It's rubbish. I've had no contact from Newcastle. I'm staying here."
Bramble has refused to sign an extension to his contract at Portman Road, although he still has two years left on his current deal. Yesterday George Burley said they will not be talking about his contract again until the summer. His agent Jonathan Barnett has said that there is plenty of time for Town and Bramble to agree a new deal.
With the two years remaining on his contract, Town still not out of the relegation battle and not under any pressure to sell, the Blues selling Bramble in the near future looks unlikely.
