Bishop and McQueen Agree Pro Deals - Ipswich Town News

Academy second-year scholar Teddy Bishop and former Tottenham striker Darren McQueen have agreed one-year professional deals with the Blues.

Midfielder Bishop, 17, was included in the Town first-team squad on a couple of occasions during the latter stages of 2013/14 but didn’t make it into the matchday 18.

McQueen, who is 19 tomorrow, spent much of the second half of the season on a work experience loan with Town, featuring and scoring for the U21s on a number of occasions.

Londoner McQueen tweeted: "Buzzing to have signed my first professional contract at Ipswich town Football Club. Managed to persevere through all the lows.”

Bishop is similarly pleased to have agreed terms: "Delighted to have been offered my first professional contract with Ipswich.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Jack Willbye, 18, has been offered a third year on his academy scholarship.

We understand that second-year scholar George Clarke has been released along with Amir Berkane, while Cory Galvin, Omar Sowunmi and Joe Robinson have all been offered either extensions to their scholarships or pro terms.

Byron Lawrence, Kyle Hammond and Michael Crowe have previously agreed professional deals.
