Sowunmi Agrees Pro Deal - Ipswich Town News
Academy second-year scholar Omar Sowunmi has agreed to sign a one-year professional deal with the Blues.
Sowunmi, an 18-year-old 6ft 5in tall centre-half from Colchester, was a regular for the U18s and U21s during 2013/14. The deal will formally begin on July 1st.
Earlier this month, academy second-year scholar Teddy Bishop, 17, and former Tottenham striker Darren McQueen, 19, who had spent much of the second half of the season on trial with the Blues, also agreed one-year professional deals. Midfielder Jack Willbye, 18, has been offered a third year on his academy scholarship.
We understand that George Clarke has been released along with Amir Berkane having completed their scholarships, while Cory Galvin and Joe Robinson have been been offered the chance to stay at the club, either an extension to their scholarship or pro terms.
Byron Lawrence, Kyle Hammond and Michael Crowe have previously agreed professional deals.
