Update: Town to Learn Capital One Cup Opponents - Ipswich Town News

Town will now learn their Capital One Cup first round opponents on Tuesday at the earlier time of 9.40am with their 2014/15 Championship fixtures following at 9am on Wednesday.

The Capital One Cup first round draw is seeded on the basis of last season’s final league positions and then split on a north and south basis.

Relegated former Premier League sides Norwich City and Fulham are not involved at the first round stage but Cardiff City, who finished bottom of the table, are amongst the seeded southern clubs.

Town will play one of the unseeded southern sides in a one-off tie in the week commencing 11th August. Last year, Town lost 2-0 away at Stevenage at the first round stage of the competition.

The 2014/15 Championship fixtures will be announced at 9am on Wednesday when as usual they will be available on TWTD.
