McCarthy Confirms Hunt Signing New Deal - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that winger Stephen Hunt is rejoining the Blues on a one-year deal, as TWTD revealed last week.

Speaking ahead of pre-season getting underway at Playford Road this morning, McCarthy said: "Hunty’s coming back, we’re re-signing Hunty, that’s been agreed, a one-year deal.

"I’m delighted with that not only because of what he brings on the pitch but what he brings off it, he’s a great character around the place.

"Others, we’ll just wait and see what happens. We’re talking to people but they’re all doing their recruitment as well. We all want to get the best players for the best deals and the players all want to get the best clubs for the best deals, so there’s a bit of chat going on with a few of them.”

Hunt wasn't amongst the players taking the traditional run around the training ground and seems likely to join up with the squad later in the week.

Meanwhile, another of last season's loanees Paul Green is interesting Rotherham, who have already signed former Blues Frazer Richardson and Scott Loach.
