U18s at Southwold and Coggeshall in Pre-Season - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U18s will play their traditional friendly against Southwold on Friday 18th July (KO 6.30pm) and also another pre-season game at Coggeshall on Saturday 26th July (KO 2pm).
The youngsters’ match on Southwold Common has been a feature of pre-season for some years with the Blues winning last year’s game 7-0. The U18s also faced Coggeshall last summer when they won 6-0. Further games are expected to be confirmed.
The academy’s full-time scholars — including the new intake of first years - are due back for pre-season on Friday with their regular season fixtures starting on Saturday 16th August. Town are expecting news on their application for category one status for the season ahead very soon.
Town’s U15s will be in Ireland from August 6th-9th to take part in the 2014 Macron Galway Cup which is staged by the local Salthill Devon club. The Blues have taken part in the competition on a number of occasions in the past and won it at U15 level in 2010.
