McGoldrick Close to Joining in Training - Ipswich Town News
Striker David McGoldrick could be back training with the rest of the squad as soon as tomorrow as he continues his rehabilitation after the knee injuries which ended his 2013/14.
The 26-year-old missed tonight’s friendly at Colchester but McCarthy says he’s close to joining in with the other players: "He’s still not quite ready.
"I think he’ll be joining in training pretty shortly, this week probably. He might join in tomorrow. There’s a smaller squad out tomorrow, the lads who have played, so we’ll try and get him out tomorrow.”
Stephen Hunt has also missed all the Blues’ pre-season games so far with what his manager says is a nagging rather than serious injury: "A minor calf problem is just bothering him, which is why he’s not here tonight. He’s stayed at home to rest and keep his leg up and hope he recovers.”
Young midfielder Ted Bishop was also absent but due to a minor problem: "He’s hurt his neck. Nothing serious.”
