McGreal Misses Out - Ipswich Town News
Town defender John McGreal picked up his fifth booking of the season in last night's 1-0 win against Fulham. He now faces a one match ban, the first Town player to face one this season.
The ex-Tranmere man was booked when Barry Hayles appeared to run into him, a decision McGreal felt was harsh: "I'm gutted to have to miss a game. I didn't realise it was my fifth booking until after the game. I felt it was harsh and told the referee I had tried to back off and that their player had run into me and I couldn't get out of the way. Fulham had plenty of the ball but we had the better chances. I should have scored myself and Marcus Bent missed a good chance to kill them off near the end. It was a good professional performance though. We needed a good start after Sunday's game to build on and we did that, and I felt after we scored we held them quite comfortably really."
