McCarthy Confirms Collison Training With Town - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that former West Ham midfielder Jack Collison is training with the Blues, as reported over the weekend. The 25-year-old Wales international was released by the Hammers at the end of last season and recently had a spell on trial at QPR.
"He’s training with us,” McCarthy said. "He’s certainly got real quality, we know that about him as a player.
"He’s wanted to get himself fit and I think he lives half an hour away, so I said come and train with us.
"Who knows? Something might come of it, something might not. There’s no agenda with it at all, he’s training with us.
"He adds a bit of quality to training sessions. You take people on trial sometimes and straight away you know that’s not going to go any further because actually he’s upsetting the training. But he’s actually added a bit of quality to it. However, you’ve got to see them in games on a full pitch.”
