Grimsby Also Wanted Brown - Ipswich Town News

Grimsby have emerged as another club who were keen to take Town's Wayne Brown on loan. The centre-half joined Watford yesterday with interest from Colchester also apparent while Norwich came in for Brown just before Christmas. Brown hopes to make his switch to the Hornets permanent.

Brown said: "The Gaffer spoke to me on Tuesday and told me Grimsby and Colchester United had asked about taking me on loan and that Watford had enquired a couple of weeks ago. I want to go somewhere that plays the right sort of football and it is no good to me if at the end of the month nothing could come of it. My agent checked with Watford and they still wanted me so I have come here."

Brown had already had a three-month spell at Wimbledon earlier in the season which he hoped to turn into a permanent move, but the Londoners couldn't finance the deal.
