Bent Claims Goal - Ipswich Town News
As expected Marcus Bent has claimed last night's winner, despite suggestions that it might already have been over the line before he got his touch at the far post. Alun Armstrong's effort had been deflected over keeper Edwin Van Der Sar across the Fulham goal.
Bent, in the midst of a goal frenzy, said: "If the ball was clearly going in I would have left it, but if I had left it and it had gone by the post I would have been a villain. Alun Armstrong didn't say anything about it, so I'm claiming it."
