Hunt and Stewart Targeting Millwall Match - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy says injured duo Stephen Hunt and Cameron Stewart should be fit enough for inclusion in the first-team squad for the home game against Millwall which follows the international break. The Blues manager says he has no new injury problems ahead of Saturday’s game at Derby County.
"I think they’re all OK,” McCarthy said. "Hunty’s been out and trained today, which is great, but he’s not fit to play yet.
"Cameron Stewart’s the only other one. It’ll be six weeks from when he broke his jaw to when he’s completely healed.”
He says the pair should be ready for the Millwall match: "I hope so. I’ve said to them both that that’s got to be their target. Not looking to do anything else, their target is to be ready for the games when we come back after the international break.”
Town will be without Conor Sammon at Derby as the loan striker is unavailable against his parent club and McCarthy has confirmed that Frank Nouble will come into the squad.
He says youngsters Matt Clarke and Teddy Bishop will also probably make the trip to the Midlands.
