Town Face Swans in U21 Cup - Ipswich Town News
The Blues have drawn Swansea City at home in the second qualifying round of the U21 Premier League Cup. It’s the first time Town have entered the competition, which was won by Reading in its inaugural season last year.
The first qualifying round largely involves Category Three clubs with the Blues amongst 16 Category Two sides coming in at the second qualifying stage - which will take place in the week beginning October 6th - competing for a place in the main draw alongside 19 of the Category One clubs. The full draw can be found here.
All ties are decided on the day with extra-time played if the scores are level after 90 minutes with a penalty shoot-out following if required.
Town's U21s are next in action when they face Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road on Monday evening with free agents Jack Collison and Darren Ambrose set to feature (KO 7pm).
