Collison and Ambrose in Action for U21s - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed that free agents Jack Collison and Darren Ambrose will play for the U21s in their game against Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road this evening (KO 7pm).
Manager Mick McCarthy is keen to see the duo, who have been training at Playford Road in recent weeks, in match action.
Ex-West Ham man Collison, who previously featured in the U21 friendly at Lowestoft, is understood to have impressed McCarthy in training, but the Blues boss is likely to want to see how the 25-year-old copes with a full 90 minutes before making a decision on whether to offer him a contract.
The Wales international has a long-standing knee problem which he has to manage.
Entry to the Cobbold Stand only is free to season ticket holders, while prices for non-season ticket holders are £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
