Sammon On Target But U21s Hammered - Ipswich Town News
Conor Sammon netted his first goal in a Town shirt but the Blues’ U21s were beaten 5-1 by West Ham in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Upton Park this afternoon.
The on-loan Derby man tapped home a rebound late on in the first half with Hammers winger Matthias Fanimo netting four times and Diafra Sakho the game's best goal.
Bartosz Bialkowski and Darren Ambrose, who is continuing to train with the Blues, also featured.
Bialkowski saved a second-half penalty from Nathan Mavila, however, Fanimo followed up to score.
Former West Ham midfielder Jack Collison, who has also been training with the Blues and played in Monday's U21 game, was not to have featured and is believed to have moved on without having been offered terms.
