Murphy Hoping to Win Cap - Ipswich Town News

Striker Daryl Murphy will be hoping he wins his 13th full cap when the Republic of Ireland begin their Euro 2016 campaign with a game against Georgia in Tbilisi this afternoon (Sky Sports 5/HD5 4pm).

The Blues frontman is likely to be on the bench for Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane’s side, having come on in the 85th minute of Wednesday’s 2-0 friendly victory over Oman in Dublin.

Loanee striker Conor Sammon was included in the provisional 36-man squad before being left out of the final party, but the Dubliner remained on standby. Ex-Blue Jon Walters is in the squad.

Town's Stephen Hunt has written about the game in today's Irish Sunday Independent

Christophe Berra withdrew from the Scotland squad facing Germany in their opening Euro 2016 qualifier today, due to a knee injury.
