Former Striker Whyte Dies - Ipswich Town News
Former striker David Whyte died yesterday aged 43, it has been announced.
Whyte joined the Blues on a short-term contract in October 1997 and played in defeats at Charlton and at home to Stockport before moving on a month later.
The Londoner was best known for his time as an Addicks player with whom he scored 35 goals in 106 games, having started his career with local side Greenwich Borough before breaking into senior football with Crystal Palace. He also had spells with Reading, Bristol Rovers and Southend.
