Ambrose Has Unfinished Business - Ipswich Town News

Darren Ambrose says he has unfinished business at Town having joined the Blues for a third spell earlier today. The midfielder has penned a short-term deal until January.

The 30-year-old came through the academy and had just established himself in the first team when he was sold to Newcastle for £1 million with the club desperately needing to raise cash during 2003’s administration.

The Harlow-born midfielder returned to the Blues for two months on loan from Charlton during 2008/09 but failed to win an extended stay.

Having left Birmingham in June he came back to Playford Road towards the end of August and featured in a couple of U21 matches.

"I’d been on to my agent to try and get me a chance to train with Ipswich and the gaffer invited me down here for a few weeks,” Ambrose explained to the club site.

"I have felt good here and the manager pulled me on Tuesday and said the club would be offering me something.

"I couldn’t be happier, to be honest. It’s a great club and I feel like I have unfinished business here.

"I have said before that I left too young and then when I came back here on loan things didn’t really go as well as I had hoped for.

"Now I’m back for a third time and I’m really looking forward to it. I want to succeed here. That’s the target and I’m confident I can achieve that.”
