McCarthy Set for Collison Talks - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy is set to speak to former West Ham midfielder Jack Collison about joining the Blues on a short-term contract later today. The 25-year-old recently spent several weeks with the Town squad at Playford Road and was offered a deal before moving on and joining Birmingham for training earlier this week.
McCarthy says the offer is still on the table: "I’m speaking to Jack today. I offered him exactly the same as Darren Ambrose, to January and I’ve told him that offer still stands.
"Things all seem sweet now but we get to November and suddenly we’ve got a flu epidemic and we’ve people with injuries and suspensions so another body of that quality would be nice.”
He says no decision has yet been made but that the deal could be done later today: "Possibly, I’m speaking to his agent. If he wants to come and do it, I’ll still do it.”
