Stewart Injury Not Serious - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy says winger Cameron Stewart is likely to miss Monday’s live Sky game at Wigan but won’t be out long-term having suffered a knee injury during Monday’s U21s victory at Charlton.

The 23-year-old was forced off early on against his former loan club as he made his return after six weeks out with a broken jaw.

"He’s just hyper-extended his knee, he’s bent it back too far and it’s just bruised the knee-joint, but he’ll be OK,” McCarthy said.

"I don’t know how long he’ll be, but it’s not long-term. He’ll be fine, it feels a lot better today. He’s going for a scan later today and we’ll find out more. But I doubt he’ll be fit for Monday.”

The Town boss says everyone came through last night’s 2-0 home victory over Brighton OK: "More or less, there are bumps and bruises, Skusey’s got a sore foot.

"There are one or two in the treatment room but nothing which is long-term, they’ll all be available for Monday against Wigan.”

McCarthy confirmed that winger Stephen Hunt came through Monday’s U21 game unscathed after his calf problem and will come into contention for the visit to the Latics.
