Boss Mick McCarthy there’s a well-warranted buzz about Playford Road following this week's back-to-back 2-0 home wins against Millwall and Brighton.
"I’d like to think there’s a buzz about the place more often than not but when you’ve won back-to-back games, and I think played as well as we have, certainly on Tuesday against a really capable team, then I think we’re entitled to have a buzz around the place,” he said.
The Town manager believes the Blues deserved their victory despite keeper Dean Gerken having been forced to make one or two stops, most notably from Albion striker Sam Baldock in the first half: "There’s a lot been made about Dean Gerken’s saves. He made a save after about 20 minutes when we made a mistake and gave them the opportunity.
"Prior to that Ando had had a header which had flashed across and Didz had put a cross in which Tyrone couldn’t get on the end of because of good defending. Murph had been in and clipped it over the bar.
"It was a good save from Gerks, how he got it over the crossbar I’ll never know and we had to work hard."
He added: "A bit like on Saturday against Millwall, they were capable in possession, they worked us, they tried to stretch us and get us wide open, but we kept our shape, which was really important.
"As I say, the chance came from us giving it away and they caught us on the break. It wasn’t them picking a hole in us or us as a defence being weak.
"That was a real plus point for us, as was Saturday for the first 20 minutes. And then we got better in the second half and I think we deserved the win in the end and the two goals were excellent.”
McCarthy’s squad appears to be one of the tightest-knit at Town for some while and he says he works hard to maintain a stable environment.
"I hope that’s the case, I think you might find that it’s a lot down to the way I run the club and TC is a big part of that,” he said.
"We try to be consistent in our approach to it, the management of it. There are no real slanging matches or abuse going around.
"Win, lose or draw I think there’s a consistent attitude towards what we’re doing and that helps create an environment where players enjoy coming in working and enjoying training, which they do. Quite clearly they do.”
He continued: "I’ve really try to treat people how I would like to be treated and if they don’t like that, then I can’t do a lot about it, can I? I like to be treated well myself.
"We’ve had players that because they’re not in the team are unhappy, I get that, so they want to go and play. But I know there are players who are playing [elsewhere] who would still like to be back here because of the way the place is run and the spirit that’s in the club.”
He says he’s had that same spirit at all his previous clubs: "I’d like to think I’ve always had it. But the more games you get beat, the harder it is to keep it. I haven’t changed, it’s not me that changes, believe me!”
