Nigeria Win - Ipswich Town News
Finidi George and Nigeria are through to the semi-finals of the African Nations' Cup after they beat Ghana 1-0 in Bamako this evening. Garba Lawal, the player last week claimed by his agent to be interesting Town, scored the only goal in the second half.
Finidi George played on the right of midfield and had a decent first half shot as well as a header which he ought to have done better with. He was substituted in the closing stages as the Nigerian management tried to kill time.
Nigeria now meet either Cameroon or Egypt in the semi-final, to be played in the 26th March Stadium in Bamako on February 7th (KO 7pm, Eurosport).
The Cameroon-Egypt match is tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.
